What is passive audience? Passive audience is the view that audiences take in information from the media that has the same effect on everyone. What is active audience? Active audience is the more modern and generally accepted view that audience interact with the media they consume. What is Hypodermic Needle theory? The Hypodermic Needle theory is a linear communication theory that suggests that media messages are injected directly in to the brain of passive audiences. Future revision: Denotation-What you see/first level of analysis. E.G.The rose denoted flowers Connotation- What signs/features mean and suggest. E.G.
