Mathusan- WWW- Your blog is very impressive as you have managed to keep on top of all the work and do all your homework. I think that you sometimes struggle to get the concepts when we learn them in class so I would make sure you take care to read the blog after each lesson and re-read the notes so that you can revise the terminology and make sure you are confident with each new theory. You use all your own words which shows a real effort. Your actual essay is a bit vague with detail and is lacking media language (use your glow words to help you) but your attention on the question is very good and you focus well on the task in hand. THE PREFERRED The preferred reading of the media text is trying to tell us that young people are bad and that they create violence just for other peoples entertainments whereas old people are vulnerable,innocent,weak and unsteady. THE OPTIONAL The optional reading of the media text is trying to tell us that old people can be as bad as young people whereas if young people get a chance to have an opportunity to change they can be good.      The Harry Brown trailer positions the audience to view the teenage characters as a negative point of view and to make them look naughty and most of all dangerous.This is because the teenagers in the trailer the teenager are shown with weapons in their hand therefore this is showing that they are violent and dangerous.  Young people may reject this reading and construct an opposition   reading of this trailer because they may take the scenario as the younger people are being misunderstood in the trailer. ...

Mathusan Essay question:   “The internet has given audiences much more power than ever before.” To what extent do you agree with this statement?
